News from MRO Europe 2024 - Aero SPX update
November 11, 2024
After a very successful introduction at MRO Europe 2024, we are extremely pleased to see that Aero SPX is generating a high level of interest.
As co-founders of the company, Preston Air Services are very excited to be part of an organisation that is looking to demonstrate that AI/XR technology can be used to add real value to Aviation MRO and OEM operations both now, and well into the future. At Aero SPX we have a company that has been engaged behind the scenes for many months developing a system that can offer real tangible benefits to the industry and current market needs. Most importantly the Aero SPX team combine highly experienced AI/XR system developers, aviation process software providers and more that 80 years of collective MRO/OEM engineering and technical operations knowledge.
What is XRVis ?
The Aero SPX XRvis system is an integrated product designed to adopt the benefits of using AI and Extended Reality (XR) in aviation, to significantly advance visual inspection and operational efficiency within Aviation MRO and OEM processes. XRvis employs augmented reality (AR) hardware, such as Lenovo A3 glasses, and integrates with the Aero SPX patent-pending Programming Intelligent Interface (Pi²). This allows technicians to access high-resolution, immersive visual data, enhancing the precision and speed of inspections and repairs.
The XRvis suite includes several modules tailored for aerospace needs. For example, “iview” offers multi-window overlays for complex visualizations during inspections, while “idox” provides quick access to detailed manuals and references without switching devices. Meanwhile, “iconnex” enables live, collaborative troubleshooting by linking technicians across locations, and “ivoice” allows hands-free access to schematics or instructions through voice commands, reducing the need for manual input. This combination of XR and AI streamlines workflows by integrating real-time data, instructional materials, and documentation into the inspection process itself, making operational data more actionable and reducing maintenance times.
By also interfacing with OEM document control platforms, ERP systems, and other Process Control Software, XRvis optimises data accessibility and workflow alignment, leading to faster, data-driven decision-making and safer, more effective MRO processes. The technology stack that underpins XRvis transforms maintenance by providing secure access to critical operational information in real-time, empowering technicians and engineers to conduct inspections, repairs, and other MRO tasks with a new level of efficiency and precision. This approach ultimately supports the industry’s move toward a fully digital, highly integrated maintenance ecosystem.
Overall, Aero SPX XRvis provides a cutting-edge solution for overcoming traditional bottlenecks in aircraft MRO by combining advanced XR technology with intelligent process control, resulting in measurable improvements in safety, efficiency, and operational performance. contact@aerospx.cominfo@prestonairservices.com

Aero SPX Joint Venture Launches to Revolutionise Aviation, Aerospace, and Defence MRO with Cutting-Edge XR, AI and API Technology
October 03, 2024
Aero SPX, an exciting new joint venture formed by Tracware, BSD XR, and Preston Air Services, is set to transform the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defence MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) sectors. Combining decades of industry expertise and technological innovation, Aero SPX will introduce groundbreaking solutions by integrating Extended Reality (XR) technology with advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and API Technology to redefine the future of maintenance and operations.
A New Era of Innovation in MRO
Aero SPX emerged at a pivotal moment for the aviation and aerospace industries. As the demand for faster, more efficient and cost-effective maintenance solutions grows, this joint venture is poised to meet and exceed these demands with cutting-edge technology.
XR Technology – a combination of augmented and virtual reality – will be at the core of Aero SPX’s solutions. By allowing engineers and technicians to interact with immersive, high-resolution visualisations directly within their work environment, XR enhances precision, reduces downtime, and streamlines complex maintenance tasks. From virtual training to real-time maintenance guidance, Aero SPX’s XR solutions will reshape how MRO operations are executed.
In addition to XR, Aero SPX will leverage in-house Artificial Intelligence to optimise every stage of the MRO process. AI-driven analytics will provide predictive maintenance capabilities, ensuring potential issues are identified and addressed before they become critical. This blend of XR and AI represents the future of efficient, safe, and cost-effective maintenance for aviation and aerospace.
Enhanced Value through ERP/PCS API Integration
A key value-add of Aero SPX is its seamless integration with existing ERP and PCS like Aerotrac. By interfacing directly with these systems, Aero SPX enhances the value of the tools already in use by providing real-time data flow, from predictive maintenance alerts to immediate updates on repair workflows. A patent-pending API allows for a unified, streamlined approach to MRO management, ensuring that every aspect of maintenance, inventory, and operations is fully aligned.
With this enhanced value-add, Aero SPX doesn’t just optimise the hands-on work in maintenance but also ensures that all data is accurately reflected within the end user’s ERP/PCS system, creating greater transparency, efficiency, and control across the entire workflow
A Partnership Built on Industry Expertise
Aero SPX brings together three leading industry players:
Tracware: With a renowned ERP solution for MRO operations, Tracware offers unmatched experience in optimising workflows and providing comprehensive data insights to keep maintenance operations running smoothly.
